Stockham Takes Over - Again

General. First Lee Stockham, then Bob Stockham, and now the creative Dave Stockham (with sister, Lynn) have been the general contractors with charge of the Clinton Engines buildings since the company moved to Maquoketa. The venerable G,L. Stockham & Son, Inc. has been in business since 1897 and is now in its FOURTH generation of general contracting. While the reconstruction of the Clinton Engines building had been done mainly with rank amateur volunteers with occasional involvement of Stockham, the completion of the project was turned over to Stockham because of the expertise and skill required in the tasks remaining to be done. Stockham has much experience with historic buildings, knows the Clinton Engines building better than anyone, and is itself an historic company as few family businesses make it through the third generation or stay

around for over 100 years. We are fortunate to have them on the job where every day there is at least one invention or clever workaround required. That is Dave’s forte.
