Signage - 'Heisterization'

THE DOCTOR IS IN - “THE MAN” for masonry is Dale Heister of Maquoketa, owner of Heister Masonry Co.(R). He was just the ticket to take a load of original bricks from the demolished Clinton Engines factory buildings and put them together to make mounts for the institutional signage for the restored headquarters building that is to come.  Dale built 3 brick mounts - 1 each for the NE and NW corners of the property and one at the South Clark Street entrance. He added a bit ‘o class and pronounced the project ‘Heisterized.’ The wall and signage frame, to be added, was designed by Jim Geronzin of Maquoketa.

(L) Dale and his crew build the NE corner wall. It was convex and was under 4’ tall. Weather was very hot but didn’t slow Dale down.

(R) The wall is up but the capstone is not on.

Heister West

(L) Now goes the indentically designed NW corner wall.

(R) The completed NW wall with capstone attached. Dale erected a third sign at the S. Clark Street entrance. It was also of brick but was square in design.
