Dirty, stained, unkempt, windows gone, roof leaking badly, weatherbeaten, ugly countenance and the inside was infinitely worse - unbelievably degraded, dark, dank, and weathered by elements not supposed to be inside. The dying trees around the structure had been earlier removed with City permission and a lot of cleanup had been done. But this was the awful state she was in then. Was this to be the moment of her death or could there be some miraculous rebirth - some new lease of life for the County’s grand old lady? Things were looking grim.
