The savior of Clinton Engines. Asher Schroeder, current (2007) President of the Jackson County Historical Society and leader of the effort to acquire the Clinton Engines property and to restore it. Asher was a POW in World War II, a Maquoketa lawyer and former County Attorney and US Attorney, and a longtime influential and respected pillar of the community and the county.
